It seems almost a science fiction plot, but we may reach the days when phone repair techs also need EOD training to survive. If I take a 10,000 mile view of this issue, we are essentially storing unpredictable ordinance in our dresser drawers. No, I only wish I was referring to an episode with the blackboard and said bulge in elementary school. Finally, my most recent Note 9 still turns on and functions, but is also starting to show that same embarrassing bulge. My S8 and Note 8 were swelling and starting to expand and I'm not trying to charge them. Both of the batteries I pulled from them were swollen like the aforementioned phones. ![]() I also have an S8 Ultra I'm using to post this missive- I love the huge screen and the stuff I can do on it.īut to the phones, my Note 3 and Note 4s have removable batteries, which I sorely miss. Samsung was synonymous with solid and savvy. I've used their phones exclusively since 2011, I've owned 5 Samsung televisions, 2 of their soundboard and I even have the Darth Vader smart vacuum. I seem to be heading in the direction of becoming a Samsung fan boy. I keep it for sentimental reasons, thus everything else is Samsung. ![]() ![]() it was slow as a turtle but solidly functional as a rock. The first model I pulled was my HTC Evo 4G, which was my second smartphone ever and in massive use during my graduate school days in 2010. So I dug out the shoebox and started examining phones. I followed his sage advice to check my small collection of used phones to see if I also had the same issue. What was informing and simultaneously alarming was the sheer number of newer phones that showed this issue already OR had obvious issues starting. So as an avid viewer of MrWhoseTheBoss, I wasn't surprised ge came to this perspective.
